Sheet fabrication for over 50 years
History
Founded in the 1967 when Bob Aspin & Tom Stephenson (known locally as owd Bob Tinner and Tommy Tinner) bought Sutcliffe Sheet Metal based on Ormerod St Rawtenstall.
The partnership of Bob And Tom formed Rossendale Sheet Metal Co and was based at New Hall Hey Rawtenstall for 2 years then moved to Dobbin Lane Higher Cloughfold Rossendale. Tom left the company in 1983 and the company was run by Bob and his son Nigel who joined the firm as an apprentice in 1972. Bob retired in 1998 and Nigel and his wife Gill took over the running of the business and due to increasing volume of work we moved in 2003 to Unit A Waterfoot Business Centre in Waterfoot.
Industry
In the early years at Dobbin Lane we serviced the local cotton, felt mills and shoe industry. Manufacturing extract ductwork, guarding and general sheet metal work. As these industries declined over the years the company has diversified to the markets demands. During this time we have gained vast amounts of experience in many different processes and techniques.
As we diversified we have worked for the aerospace, pet food, bakery, food, wall paper, underlay & carpet, air bag, water treatment, mattress production, road sweeper and floor cleaning component industries.
During this adaptation we worked with different metals, processes & welding techniques to meet the requirements of the customers ever changing contracts. Customer satisfaction and quality work at an affordable price is our priority at Rossendale Sheet Metal.
This adaptability and quality of work led to us into the making Stainless steel vessels especially for the Micro Brewing Industry at which we have been a success and have been producing these vessels for the last 20 years. Over this period we have produced over 300 micro breweries and 1500 vessels which have been installed throughout Britain, Europe and the world.
